The separation of Art and Science is an artifice, that, while revealing some truths, ultimately is a disservice to the greater truths...and indeed there are degrees, or layers, of truth. Science, and specifically Physics and all its underlings...the subsets of Chemistry and Biology..., is, when both its goals of objectivity and its subjective reality are accounted for, really just a form of Art. A highly disciplined form of Art in which the subjective expression of an experience is given form.

In Science, as witnessed by the "Scientific Method", we subjectively spell out a hypothesis...a question really...which we try to answer, i.e. prove or disprove by objective means. The better the science the better that a simple question is asked and answered with the least number of potential variables embedded. Those variables become choices and choices are subjective in that we must make editorial decisions as to which variables to allow in or out, or to control, as best we can.

Such scientific inquiry and expression in the form of data gathering, summation, evaluation, distribution and application to the "real" world is no different from...and entirely a subset of...the world of Art. Every work of art asks a question, battles with objective and subjective choices of means, methods and expressions, culminating in its "answer"...its form of expression. In many cases, Science is a more disciplined and rigorously applied Art...but Art it is, nevertheless. And what is Art but the manifestation of our experience in a form that can be perceived by another.
